The Climb

This is my photo that i took for the photo song lyric assignment. In the image there is a tree with wooden steps nailed to it. The song i choose to match this image is The climb by Miley Cyrus. In the song Miley is struggling to keep moving on through all of the hurdles in her life. To help represent this i took the picture with an upward angle. I also made the tree darker which helped add the effect of a sketchy climb into the sky above which is showing through spaces in the trees.

Repulsive 2

For my second repulsive picture i took a picture of my neighbors trash cans. Obviously trash is disgusting but the composition of colors really make this a cool photo plus the trash is blured in the background while the focal point are the sticks in the front. i used the color balance technique and my iso setting on my camera.

Repulsive

For my Repulsive picture i took a picture of a thistle because thistles are ugly and painful but at the same time the leaves on the plant have a really cool pattern. Also i used the iso setting on my camera to focus on one of the leaves which blured out the rest of the plant and the background. I also used the color balance technique and the dodge tool to darken some of the shadows and the sponge tool to enhance the green in the leaves.

attractive 2

When looking for my second attractive picture i found these two red swings at my neighbors house. They have been there for a long time so the metal chains were old and rusty and the beautiful red paint was chipping away. I used a color balance on the photo and to take the picture i used the iso setting on my camera to blur the background.

Attractive

On my scavenge for something that i thought looked attractive i found this pond. The colors and angle of the edge of the pond make it look so pretty. Unfourtuntly the gross color of the pond and alge make the picture repulsive. To edit my picture in photoshop I used a guassian blur filter and then I lightened my photo using the dodge tool. I also used a blur in the background of the photo.

Easy blur

The picture on the left is a blur filter and a changed opacity which gave it form with a blurry finish. The filter used gives the whites in the photo a milky finish which helps to bring out the blue background becuase the objects are not as define.
The picture on the right has the same filter as the one of the left but this picture has a different light source so the color is more cohesive throught the image. But the image does pop because of the sinks many highlights.

Filter the background

The image on the left has a filter called dark strokes added to it. The dark strokes add a contrast between the leaves in the background and pink flowers in the foreground. Also the leave are more distorted and blured while the flowers are more in focus creating a clear focal point.
For the image on the right i used a couple of filters, they are spatter, ink outline, and dark strokes. The spatter made the background look like it had little dots. Then the ink outline blended it the dots a little better and finally the dark strokes add the contrast and highlight of the image.

Blur/Overlay

The Picture on the right has an added blur to it. The blur takes away the definetion of the objects in the image and adds a milky texture to it. I feel it makes the objects pop because it brings out their colors more.
The Picture on the left also has added blur. The blur in this image highlights the brighter light of the outdoors compared to the inside of the garage causing the blue door in the middle to pop.

Neon Glow Filter

This photo has the neon glow filter attached to it. Because the sign in the picutre is already a fluorescent color compared to the dark background the sign is looked at at the main focal point. The added filter simply adds to the emphasis of it.

This photo also has the neon glow filter added to it. The rays of the rising sun are more noticable because of the filter. Also because of the color alteration, the viewer will focus more on the bright sun.
